On Thursday 6th February, Strathkelvin Preceptory hosted what is fast becoming a regular fixture in their Kalendar of events: a Tri-muster. The photograph shows some of the Fratres who attended this highly-successful event in which the Preceptories of St John Glasgow and Kilpatrick joined their hosts in carrying out the Temple Grade.

‘Santa’ Jimmy came to the Christmas Fair at Hazelwood School where he handed over the magnificent sum of £1,170 to the head teacher (pictured, left). The money includes a donation from District funds – and a wonderful amount raised by Jimmy’s dedication from other sources, including several Masonic Orders.

The Lanarkshire Freemasons Carol Service, held last December, united members from all Orders in a heartwarming event. Attendees generously donated gifts for local children in need, spreading festive cheer. Though our District doesn’t host its own service, all Fraters are encouraged to support next year’s gathering—details to follow.

Taking advantage of ‘match funding’ from Great Priory, Bute Preceptory donated £500 to each of two local charities: ‘Bute Babies and Toddlers’, and ‘Crossroads Caring for Carers Cowal and Bute’, an organisation dedicated to supporting those individuals (especially young people) who take on the responsibility of taking care of the needs of others.
